Food, breakfast, snack, and meal data

  • All food information has been compiled by us and reviewed for accuracy. We do not claim to have an exhaustive list of foods. We defined our own food group classifications.
  • Breakfast, snack, and meal content is user submitted. If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner) and believe that your work copyright has been infringed, please report it to contact@eatricious.com or write us at: eatricious.com, 20 Allen st., San Francisco, CA 94109 USA.

Nutrition data

  • The nutrition information provided on eatricious.com on food and meal pages comes from the USDA's National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference.
  • To calculate nutrition data for breakfast, snack, and meal items under the "Eat Well" section, we rely on user input such as ingredient quantity, unit of measure and meal serving size. We do review the information submitted to us for accuracy, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy or relevancy of the input data. This may impact the final nutrition content of the recipe (f.i.: stating a meal serves 4 instead of 2 persons would cut by half each nutrient content).
  • While eatricious.com cannot guarantee the absolute accuracy of every nutrition analysis, we make every attempt possible to ensure the quality of our data.

eatricious ratings

  • The eatricious rating, represented by three/two/one/zero-apple icons, is an invention of eatricious.com.
  • The eatricious rating defines a global rating for snack, breakfast, and meal items and considers several factors such as the "convenience", "health & nutrition" and "pleasure" aspect of that particular item being rated.
  • We may change our rating system without notice (usually to make it better for end users).
  • A three-apple rating is the maximum rating bestowed upon an item. Items can be rated with zero, one, two, or three apples.

Nutrient rating and filters

  • The "Nutrition" section of snack, breakfast, and meal items features a "rating" for nutrients; this rating is the pure invention of eatricious.com.
  • eatricious nutrition rating is based on nutrient recommended daily consumption for a 2000 calories diet.
  • A good nutrient rating is indicated with a Like-small image; it either indicates high nutrient amount (ex.: "Vitamin A") or a low nutrient amount (ex.: "Sodium")
  • a bad nutrient rating is indicated with a Dislike-small image; it indicates high concentration of a nutrient (ex.: "Sodium")
  • The "rating" information is provided as a way to identify items with a high or low concentration of a nutrient; this should not be considered as medical advice; do not use this rating to track your nutrient intake and consult your general practitioner for proper advice.
  • The nutrient filters "Low in" and "Good source of" available on the site are based on the nutrient "rating"; applying a "low in" nutrient filter will return items which have been rated "good" for that nutrient; applying a "good source of" nutrient filter will return items which have been rated "good" for that nutrient.
